IHAF has established four Steering Committees for supporting IHAF Strategic Directions and helping to achieve its goals. Each committee has specific tasks to perform and follows specific rules as defined in its terms of reference.

The role of the MRAC is to manage IHAF Multi-Lateral Recognition Arrangement (MRA), this includes the development of policies and procedures, ensure harmonization and consistency in the implementation of the MRA, provide awareness on IHAF MRA, manage the peer evaluations as well as the system for signatories to MRA.

The role of the TAC is to manage efforts to harmonize accreditation practices in the field of halal between IHAF members. The TAC also reviews the essential Halal technical requirements and provides necessary recommendations to enhance systems of both accreditation bodies and conformity assessment bodies to work in the Halal field. It also ensures all needed necessary documents for supporting IHAF MRA system are in place and satisfy the need, as well as provide support and advice to MRAC if required.

The role of the MMC is to develop IHAF’s Marketing Strategy, to perform trend studies and analysis for IHAF Media and recommend improvements, and to propose mechanisms to exchange, share and disseminate information and experience within IHAF members.

 

Chairman of the MMC: Mr Mohammed Abel Moutajali

The role of the HSRC is to ensure compliance with the Sharia requirements in all activities of the IHAF, to develop policies and principles relating to Sharia requirements IHAF activities, to coordinate with the International Islamic Fiqh Academy regarding the Sharia requirements, to encourage researches and studies, which aim to overcome the technical challenges in the development of Halal products in fulfilling the Sharia requirements. HRSC also reviews and submits recommendations regarding complaints and appeals related to the Sharia issues.
